How to Buy Slabs

Slabs are delivered only to a licensed fabricator. Review the delivery requirements before requesting samples.

Do You Have a Fabricator?

Slabs can only be shipped to a licensed fabricator for unloading. We don't recommend shipping slabs to job sites or to non-fabricators. Before requesting samples, make sure you have a fabricator to handle your slabs.

Slabs Are Heavy and Delicate

Special care is required when shipping slabs. There are two shipping methods:

Truck with an A-Frame: Check with your fabricator to see if they are equipped to pick up the slab from our facility where it is located. Your fabricator should contact us to confirm availability and pricing before you order samples. We deliver within 50 miles of the warehouse directly to licensed fabricators only (no job site deliveries).
LTL Shipments by Crate: If your fabricator is more than 50 miles from our slab warehouse, they should ask about pricing for crating and shipping. Please contact us for crating charges and confirm freight costs before ordering slab samples.
Slabs should be handled only by the people listed above. We are not responsible for any damage or liability from slab handling.
Preparation and shipment of slab samples may take 6-9 business days.

Bardiglio marble, honed, in storm gray

Bardiglio is a gray marble with sweeping dark and pale gray bands. This one is honed to a matte face and cut 3/4 inch thick, and the slab in the photo measures 69x136 in. Stock is on request. The price comes by quote.

Design

Diagonal gray streaks on a honed Bardiglio face

The pattern runs on a strong diagonal. Charcoal streaks pull across a mid gray ground, broken by lighter flame shaped flashes, a bit like rain blown sideways. With a honed face the grays go soft and flat. You see the movement more than any shine. Slabs cut next to each other repeat the direction of the streaks, which helps when two pieces meet on a long wall.

Wind swept streaks

Dark and light gray bands run across the slab at an angle.

Soft matte gray

Honing takes away reflection, so the gray reads calm in a bright room.

Where to use it

Honed Bardiglio at 69x136 in

It is rated for residential countertops and interior walls in homes and commercial spaces, in a kitchen or a bathroom. 136 inches of length runs a long counter in one piece. A licensed fabricator templates and installs it. Slabs go to that fabricator by A-frame truck within 50 miles of the warehouse, or crated by LTL freight.

Care

As a marble, Bardiglio can etch from lemon juice or vinegar; a honed face shows this less than a polished one. Sealing is decided by the fabricator.
