How to Buy Slabs

Slabs are delivered only to a licensed fabricator. Review the delivery requirements before requesting samples.

Do You Have a Fabricator?

Slabs can only be shipped to a licensed fabricator for unloading. We don't recommend shipping slabs to job sites or to non-fabricators. Before requesting samples, make sure you have a fabricator to handle your slabs.

Slabs Are Heavy and Delicate

Special care is required when shipping slabs. There are two shipping methods:

Truck with an A-Frame: Check with your fabricator to see if they are equipped to pick up the slab from our facility where it is located. Your fabricator should contact us to confirm availability and pricing before you order samples. We deliver within 50 miles of the warehouse directly to licensed fabricators only (no job site deliveries).
LTL Shipments by Crate: If your fabricator is more than 50 miles from our slab warehouse, they should ask about pricing for crating and shipping. Please contact us for crating charges and confirm freight costs before ordering slab samples.
Slabs should be handled only by the people listed above. We are not responsible for any damage or liability from slab handling.
Preparation and shipment of slab samples may take 6-9 business days.

Arabescato Orobico Rosso marble in red and cream bands

Arabescato Orobico Rosso is a marble of folded red, rose and cream bands with gray green pockets between them. This slab is 1 1/4 inch thick and measures 69x120 in. Two photos of the block are on this page. Pricing is by quote, and stock is confirmed with it.

Design

Folded red bands across a cream ground

Nothing about this stone sits still. Red and wine colored layers bend and fold across the slab like a cut through rock strata, with cream and pink between them and small gray green pockets in the folds. Every slab shows a different section of those folds. That makes it a stone for one feature surface, picked from the photo, rather than a quiet backdrop.

Strata pattern

The bands curve and stack, so the slab reads as one large movement.

Warm palette

Red, rose and cream, with small cooler pockets of gray green.

Where to use it

Red Orobico slab at 69x120 in

This marble is rated for residential countertops and for residential and commercial interior walls, in kitchens and bathrooms. A vanity top or a wall behind a tub shows the folds well. A licensed fabricator templates, cuts and installs it, and we deliver the slab to that shop: by A-frame truck within 50 miles of the warehouse, by crated LTL freight beyond that.

Feature wall

One slab across a bathroom wall puts the whole fold pattern on show.

Vanity top

A smaller cut still keeps a few red bands in view.

Why we chose it

Two block photosSee the slab from both photos before you ask for a price.
Thick slab1 1/4 inch gives a solid edge for a counter.
Color with depthLayered reds rather than one flat tone.

Care

Marble is calcite, so acids can dull it. How it is sealed for a kitchen or a bath is up to the fabricator.

Questions we get

Will my slab match the photo?

Slabs from the same block share the banding, but each one shows its own section of it. The photos here are of this block.

How do I buy it?

Request a quote. We confirm stock with the supplier and send the price for the slabs you choose.

How is it delivered?

To your licensed fabricator, by A-frame truck within 50 miles or crated LTL freight beyond that.
