How to Buy Slabs

Slabs are delivered only to a licensed fabricator. Review the delivery requirements before requesting samples.

Do You Have a Fabricator?

Slabs can only be shipped to a licensed fabricator for unloading. We don't recommend shipping slabs to job sites or to non-fabricators. Before requesting samples, make sure you have a fabricator to handle your slabs.

Slabs Are Heavy and Delicate

Special care is required when shipping slabs. There are two shipping methods:

Truck with an A-Frame: Check with your fabricator to see if they are equipped to pick up the slab from our facility where it is located. Your fabricator should contact us to confirm availability and pricing before you order samples. We deliver within 50 miles of the warehouse directly to licensed fabricators only (no job site deliveries).
LTL Shipments by Crate: If your fabricator is more than 50 miles from our slab warehouse, they should ask about pricing for crating and shipping. Please contact us for crating charges and confirm freight costs before ordering slab samples.
Slabs should be handled only by the people listed above. We are not responsible for any damage or liability from slab handling.
Preparation and shipment of slab samples may take 6-9 business days.

Onice Velluto onyx in white and gray stripes

Onice Velluto is a white onyx with fine gray and charcoal stripes running the length of the slab. It is 3/4 inch thick and 51x136 in, a long, narrow format. Thin onyx lets light through. Stock is on request, and pricing is by quote.

Design

Straight gray stripes in white Velluto

This is a vein cut onyx, so the layers show as straight, parallel stripes rather than swirls. White and pale gray bands alternate with thin charcoal lines, bending slightly in a few places. It looks graphic. Laid horizontally on a wall the stripes stretch the room; laid vertically they make a ceiling feel higher. Without backlighting it looks like a soft gray and white stripe; with light behind it, the white bands turn bright and the charcoal lines stay dark.

It is rated for residential countertops and interior walls in homes and commercial interiors, in kitchens and bathrooms. The long, narrow shape suits wall panels, a bar front or a backsplash run. A licensed fabricator templates, cuts and installs it, and we deliver to that shop by A-frame truck within 50 miles of the warehouse or crated LTL freight beyond.
