How to Buy Slabs

Slabs are delivered only to a licensed fabricator. Review the delivery requirements before requesting samples.

Do You Have a Fabricator?

Slabs can only be shipped to a licensed fabricator for unloading. We don't recommend shipping slabs to job sites or to non-fabricators. Before requesting samples, make sure you have a fabricator to handle your slabs.

Slabs Are Heavy and Delicate

Special care is required when shipping slabs. There are two shipping methods:

Truck with an A-Frame: Check with your fabricator to see if they are equipped to pick up the slab from our facility where it is located. Your fabricator should contact us to confirm availability and pricing before you order samples. We deliver within 50 miles of the warehouse directly to licensed fabricators only (no job site deliveries).
LTL Shipments by Crate: If your fabricator is more than 50 miles from our slab warehouse, they should ask about pricing for crating and shipping. Please contact us for crating charges and confirm freight costs before ordering slab samples.
Slabs should be handled only by the people listed above. We are not responsible for any damage or liability from slab handling.
Preparation and shipment of slab samples may take 6-9 business days.

Patagonia Extra is a quartzite with large white crystalline areas, sand and gray patches, and bold black inclusions. The slab is 1 1/4 inch thick and 69x130 in. Thin areas of the white let some light through. Stock is on request, priced by quote.

Design

Big shapes make up this stone. Clear white crystal fills most of the slab, broken by angular fields of sand, taupe and gray, and a few sharp black streaks that look painted on with a wide brush. It is a dramatic quartzite. Each slab shows different shapes, so the photo of the block is the best guide to what will arrive. Plain cabinets and simple hardware give the bold shapes room, and a single large surface shows them better than several small cuts.

Where to use it

Patagonia Extra at 69x130 in

This quartzite is rated for residential countertops and interior walls in homes and commercial interiors, in kitchens and bathrooms. An island top or a backlit bar front shows the crystal well. A licensed fabricator templates, cuts and installs it, and slabs go to that shop by A-frame truck within 50 miles of the warehouse or crated LTL freight beyond.
