How to Buy Slabs

Slabs are delivered only to a licensed fabricator. Review the delivery requirements before requesting samples.

Do You Have a Fabricator?

Slabs can only be shipped to a licensed fabricator for unloading. We don't recommend shipping slabs to job sites or to non-fabricators. Before requesting samples, make sure you have a fabricator to handle your slabs.

Slabs Are Heavy and Delicate

Special care is required when shipping slabs. There are two shipping methods:

Truck with an A-Frame: Check with your fabricator to see if they are equipped to pick up the slab from our facility where it is located. Your fabricator should contact us to confirm availability and pricing before you order samples. We deliver within 50 miles of the warehouse directly to licensed fabricators only (no job site deliveries).
LTL Shipments by Crate: If your fabricator is more than 50 miles from our slab warehouse, they should ask about pricing for crating and shipping. Please contact us for crating charges and confirm freight costs before ordering slab samples.
Slabs should be handled only by the people listed above. We are not responsible for any damage or liability from slab handling.
Preparation and shipment of slab samples may take 6-9 business days.

Travertino Romano is a beige travertine cut along its layers, so it shows straight, fine bands. The slab is 3/4 inch thick and 49x112 in, a narrow format. Stock is on request and priced by quote.

Design

Straight beige bands in Romano travertine

Fine lines of cream, tan and light walnut run the length of the slab, close together and nearly straight. It looks like wood grain in stone. Travertine has small natural holes, and how they are filled is something to confirm with the quote. The narrow slab suits wall cladding, a bench top or a vanity. The color is warm without being yellow, which keeps it close to natural oak and linen.

This travertine is rated for residential countertops and interior walls in homes and commercial interiors, in kitchens and bathrooms. Laid horizontally on a wall, the bands make a room feel wider. A licensed fabricator templates, cuts and installs it, and we deliver to the shop by A-frame truck within 50 miles of the warehouse or crated LTL freight beyond. Run vertically, the same bands make a low ceiling feel a little higher. On a vanity the grain lines up along the front edge and reads clean and simple.
