How to Buy Slabs

Slabs are delivered only to a licensed fabricator. Review the delivery requirements before requesting samples.

Do You Have a Fabricator?

Slabs can only be shipped to a licensed fabricator for unloading. We don't recommend shipping slabs to job sites or to non-fabricators. Before requesting samples, make sure you have a fabricator to handle your slabs.

Slabs Are Heavy and Delicate

Special care is required when shipping slabs. There are two shipping methods:

Truck with an A-Frame: Check with your fabricator to see if they are equipped to pick up the slab from our facility where it is located. Your fabricator should contact us to confirm availability and pricing before you order samples. We deliver within 50 miles of the warehouse directly to licensed fabricators only (no job site deliveries).
LTL Shipments by Crate: If your fabricator is more than 50 miles from our slab warehouse, they should ask about pricing for crating and shipping. Please contact us for crating charges and confirm freight costs before ordering slab samples.
Slabs should be handled only by the people listed above. We are not responsible for any damage or liability from slab handling.
Preparation and shipment of slab samples may take 6-9 business days.

Tropical onyx in rust red and white

Tropical is an onyx with rust red and chestnut layers set in white. The slab is 3/4 inch thick and 83x126 in, the widest in this collection. Thin onyx lets light pass through. Stock is on request, priced by quote.

Design

Rust layers on Tropical white

Bands of rust, chestnut and deep red sweep across the white on a diagonal, folded like ribbons, with gray streaks inside some of them. The white areas are glassy. Lit from behind, the white glows and the red turns to amber. It is a showpiece stone, and the width of the slab lets it cover a large wall in one piece. Unlit, the red reads like polished wood and the white like frosted glass. On a large wall the diagonal ribbons give the room movement, and a single slab is often enough for the whole feature.

This onyx is rated for residential countertops and interior walls in homes and commercial interiors, in kitchens and bathrooms. A backlit bar, a lobby wall or a bathroom feature panel shows it well. A licensed fabricator templates, cuts and installs it, and we deliver to the shop by A-frame truck within 50 miles of the warehouse or crated LTL freight beyond.
