Product Description
Tuxedo Obsidian Black in the 24x48 matte porcelain tile format presents solid black color across a long rectangular surface. Its low-sheen finish softens reflected light, allowing the dark tone and elongated proportions to define the composition. The 9 mm, or 3/8 inch, body has rectified edges for a sharply outlined profile.
The large 24x48 dimensions reduce the number of individual pieces visible across expansive walls or floors and give the black field a strong horizontal or vertical direction. With V1 variation, neighboring tiles show little color change. Ratings cover residential and commercial interior walls and floors, light residential floors, shower walls, and backsplashes, making the format applicable to bathrooms, kitchens, and living rooms.
Absorption is limited to 0.5% or less, the ANSI A137.1 threshold for impervious porcelain. In practical terms, the tile takes in almost no water and is suited to its specified wet-room applications. Breaking strength reaches at least 325 pounds, compared with the 250-pound ANSI minimum for floor tile. A wet DCOF of at least 0.42 meets ANSI A326.3 for level indoor floors that get wet. It resists frost and thermal shock as well.
